Welcome to NormsCorner.com, your destination for news, views and taboos. What does that mean? Well it means I'll discuss just about anything that interests me at the moment. Some of what you read will be “tongue in cheek”, some just a bit laughable, and some posts are intended to be thought provoking and/or controversial.

I change this website/blog quite often. It is a project for not only espousing my personal views, but for testing new web design technologies and methods before I apply them to client websites. So don’t be concerned if it looks different occasionally. It’s just me experimenting!

The Newest Musings Of Norm Below

It’s interesting how things change over time. One ages, interests change and sometimes even our needs, wants and desires change. I can say unequivocally that I have changed, hopefully for the better.

Many of you loyal readers have noticed my absence from Norms Corner. I have received a few emails asking if I’m still alive. The answer… alive and kicking!

But I have to admit that spending a hour every now and then posting here has not been a priority. I have been busy all summer and the few times I thought “maybe I’ll post on Norms Corner”, I waited a few moments and said, “Why? I don’t really have anything to say”.

So here I am sitting at Red Eye’s, it has rained for the past few hours, the sun is just starting to peak out. Maybe a quick post? So here it is. I can’t think of anything interesting to say. I don’t feel like discussing politics, religion, the economy, the environment, our energy problems, our failed education system, Obamacare, our debt & spending, or how stupid we are to believe everything we read and hear by the news media. So let me just say, “It’s good to be seen and Norm is okay”.

I started blogging over ten years ago and it was a great way to keep friends and family up to date. But over the years things change. It started when MySpace came online. Everybody flocked to it. I never did,,, thought MySpace was not a good way to communicate. Ultimately I was right… they have lost almost all of their subscribers.

Back then Facebook was primarily for college students. I saw no reason to partake. But Facebook has made many smart changes over the years. It is now one of the most prolific social websites in the world. So I signed up over a year ago and now have 170 friends. Amazing, huh?

I also am the voice of Red Eyes on their Facebook page, which now has over 7,200 Fans. More than most local bars I have looked at.

So I may post here again as things calm down here in Maryland. Leaving for Key West on Tuesday, October 11th.
